Brighouse Town manager Paul Quinn is leading a team of ex-professionals to help raise money in aid of five-year-old Zack Barrett.
The Kirkheaton Primary School pupil, Zack – whose parents are Katie and Ryan Bennett and who has an identical twin brother Leo, until a few weeks ago had the world at his fingertips. That was until the family received the devastating news that Zack was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour called a Diffuse Pontine Giloma.
Zack has recently undergone radiotherapy to prolong his life.
But the prognosis is that Zack has only 18 months, and a fund has been set up to raise money to create happy memories for the family.
After hearing this tragic news, Shelley Veterans enquired about organising a match to help with the vital fundraising. The idea quickly snowballed with a number of ex-professionals wanting to get involved.
Huddersfield Town’s PPG Canalside have kindly offered to host the event, with a match kicking-off at 3pm on Sunday 4th December, followed by an auction and raffle at 6pm in the Radcliffe Suite.
