An own goal in the 93rd minute from James Piercy gifted Yorkshire Amateur a rare piece of luck.

The Ammers snatched the last gasp victory to end Hall Road’s run of five consecutive league victories.

The game, played out in foggy conditions, was a tight affair with few chances. A draw was heavily on the cards until the Ammers were awarded a free kick after a foul by Hall Road’s Dane Mortimer.

It was whipped in and Piercy accidentally headed it past his own goalkeeper – effectively the last bit of action in the game.

What They Said

Hall Road Rangers manager Dave Ricardo

“Today we looked and played mentally shot, especially in the first half.

“The lads have played twice a week more or less since the start of September and with the high intensity way we play there will be days like today.

“We have a number of injuries at the moment so will be looking to bring genuine quality in over the coming days.”

“The lads have been superb recently so we regroup and go again on Tuesday (at Rossington). I urge all supporters to come down and give the lads the extra lift that is all important “
