Tadcaster Albion manager Billy Miller
Billy Miller is confident of luck changing for Tadcaster Albion because his side are “playing really well”.
Tadcaster head into the home clash with promotion-chasing Lancaster City on the back of a run of four league games without a win.
“We’re not massively concerned because we’re playing really well,” Miller told Non League Yorkshire.
“It is fine margins at the moment for us. They were going for us at the start of the season, whereas they are not going for us now.
“At Clitheroe last Saturday, 3-1 didn’t tell the story. Clitheroe worked hard for their win, but they scored their third in the 93rd minute when we had all our players in their box for a corner.
“We had a couple of chances where we should have scored, but we have to give them credit.
“I’ve said all along that the club is certainly in a transitional period from the league we were in to this league. I still think we have a great chance of doing well because we have some great players.
“We’re keeping going because we’ll get it right. If we were getting smashed, you would accept some of the criticism, but in terms of our win ratio over the last 18 months is really good.
“It was always going to be harder in this league, we knew that. We’re starting to get players back and Michael Ingham will be the next one.
“We’re only a couple of players away from being at full strength. I don’t think we need to start panicking because no-one is running away with the league.”
Miller was also full of praise for stand-in goalkeeper Leon Wrigglesworth, who featured in the defeat at Clitheroe.
Wrigglesworth has had numerous spells with Tad and after Gary Stevens injured himself at work, he answered the SOS call.
“Gary is a personal trainer and he was doing some squatting and his knee popped,” he said.
“Charlie Murphy who is away at University in Newcastle became unavailable so Leon stepped in.
“It was brilliant of him and I was really proud of him because he did really well.
“We managed to track him down late on Friday and via the chairman we managed to get him registered at twenty to one in the morning.”
