Liversedge 3-1 Maltby Main
Two brilliant headers from Joe Walton returned high-flying Liversedge to winning ways.
Walton struck twice in the opening half-hour from corners, in a half that ‘Sedge capitalised on poor Maltby defending.
Connor White spectacularly dragged Maltby back into it straight after the interval with a wonder strike from long range.
The Main then had a goal disallowed for offside as they tried to force an equaliser. Ryan Carroll also fired a shot just wide.
‘Sedge held their nerve and eventually scored the decisive third, towards the close of play.
It was began with a superbly-flighted cross from Tom Brook and Rhys Davies was there to head home at the back-post.
‘Sedge had a couple more attempts, but Maltby assistant manager and stand-in goalkeeper John Stancliffe, who earned some plaudits for his performance, kept the score at 3-1.
