AFC Emley 3-2 Eccleshill United
Deadly Ash Flynn’s hat-trick has given AFC Emley a chance of being top of the tree at Christmas.
Emley just their beaten opponents Eccleshill to avoid defeat against Penistone Church on Wednesday night.
There is a chance of that happening if Eccleshill play like they did against Emley.
The Eagles took the lead at the Welfare Ground following a slick passing move and cross from Matty Stor who found Chris Lever, who finished well.
Flynn turned the game on its head as the half-hour mark approached. He equalised with a low drive before going round Eccleshill goalkeeper Mark Bower to score into a empty net to place Emley in front.
A penalty seven minutes into the second half brought the scores level again. Alex Cusack was the player fouled by Emley goalkeeper Graham McLachlan and Matty Waller was the man who converted the spot kick.
Flynn had the final word with a simple tap-in just after the hour mark.
