Nine man Liversedge dramatically rescued a point with a last gasp goal to earn a 2-2 draw at Athersley Rec.

Joe Walton gave ‘Sedge the lead nine minutes in the second half, but the Rec hit back straightaway through Jack Briscoe.

Brandon Kane was the first ‘Sedge player to be sent off before Kieran Scargill put Athersley in front for the first time.

Tom Jackson’s red card then gave ‘Sedge a mountain to climb. However Rhys Davies popped up with an unlikely equaliser.

Parkgate manager Graham Nicholas had a grin on his face until Mark Simpson equalised for Garforth

Mark Simpson secured a point for Garforth Town in the 1-1 draw at their old manager Graham Nicholas’ Parkgate.

Parkgate should have blown Garforth away in the first half, but they missed chance after chance and were only able to register Ben Thornton’s audacious lob on the score-sheet.

The Miners came out for the second half more determined and after a period of pressure, Russ Headley’s cross was converted from close range by Simpson. The goal, Simpson’s 40th for the club, sent the Garforth fans running up and down the terraces in celebration.

The last half-an-hour was fairly end-to-end. Lee Turner had Garforth’s best chance to win it, while in the dying seconds, Miners goalkeeper Paul Hagreen had to make a superb save to stop a goal-bound effort.

Handsworth Parramore lost 1-0 at AFC Mansfield.
