Will Wells sparked scenes of jubilation with the dramatic late winner for Ossett Albion in the highly-anticipated derby fixture.

Over 500 people turned out for the fixture which was a must-win for both sides for very different reasons. Ultimately Albion secured the three points to move further away from second-bottom Goole AFC.

The victory also extended their unbeaten run against Town to seven games. Town have not won a derby fixture since December 2013 when Craig Elliott sat in the hot-seat at Ingfield.

Town took the game to Albion early doors and Steve Ridley hit the crossbar with a thunderous free kick.

Albion created some good chances in the second half, but were unable to take them until the final throes of the game. It took a deep free kick to drop kindly for young defender Wells, who reacted quicker than Town goalkeeper Leigh Overton.
