Frickley Athletic 3-2 Skelmersdale United
Frickley thought they had thrown three precious points away until on-loan striker Joe Pugh pounced in stoppage time to score the winner.
In the eventual game, Skelmersdale were incredibly reduced to ten men after just ten seconds after right-back Jack Watts made a very silly lunge on Frickley’s Jack Waters.
Despite the numerical advantage, Frickley did take advantage until the hour mark. Gary Stohrer got the goal when he raced into the penalty area and lifted the ball over visiting goalkeeper Chris Cheetham.
One soon became two as Luke Mangham finished off a scramble from a Frickley free kick.
Instead of a comfortable end to the game, it briefly went pear-shaped for Frickley, who dramatically succumbed to two Harry Blackburn goals in the final five minutes – seemingly earning the visitors an unlikely point.
That was until young Pugh made a name for himself.
