Josh Meade was able to enjoy a rare moment in the spotlight as the he scored the winner for Stocksbridge against title-chasing Newcastle Town.
The big victory brings Stocksbridge’s play-offs hopes back to life.
Stocksbridge were good value for their win as they created several chances, but found Newcastle goalkeeper Dave Barton in top form. Nathaniel Crofts also had a chance cleared off-the-line.
Eventually Stocksbridge’s patience paid off when Meade scored from 20 yards.
Their position was put in jeopardy late-on as Brodie Litchfield was sent off for a reckless tackle, but the Steels were able to hold-on.
