Josh Corbett in action for Glasshoughton in April 2011

Left-sided player Josh Corbett has returned to Glasshoughton Welfare after five years away.

Corbett was one of Glasshoughton’s most promising players when he was part of the Craig Elliott glory days squad. He was a member of the Wilkinson Sword Trophy winning squad in 2011 before being a key player when Welfare won promotion the following year.

Corbett scored one of the most important goals that season too as his incredible last minute winner Handsworth resuscitated Glasshoughton’s promotion bid and took the fight to the final. Welfare would ultimately beat AFC Emley to win promotion to the Premier Division.

For the past few years, he has played for Pontefract with whom he won promotion out of Division One with.

Glasshoughton visit Rossington Main tomorrow.
