Pontefract Collieries 9-0 Ollerton Town

Chris Jackson scored five times in Pontefract’s 9-0 win over Ollerton

Deadly Chris Jackson struck FIVE times in 21 minutes as Pontefract Collieries hit NINE past Ollerton Town without reply.

Although Pontefract were only able to score once in the first half, the sending off of Ollerton goalkeeper Scott Gretton in the 18th minute was still a major turning point.

Defender Spencer Clarke got the ball rolling for the Colls shortly after the red card.

After half-time, the floodgates opened with a long range Luke Jeffs strike starting the flow.

Jordan Turner added the third before former Selby striker Jackson hit a quick-fire double.

Turner then grabbed a second goal thanks to a penalty. Jackson completed the scoring with three further goals.

Ollerton also had another man – Tom Cooke – sent off for handling on the goal-line. The Colls missed the resulting penalty.

The big victory keeps Pontefract on the tail of fellow promotion-chasers AFC Emley, Penistone Church and Grimsby Borough.
