Maltby Main celebrated back-to-back wins for the first time this season after beating Hemsworth Miners Welfare 4-2 in Fitzwilliam.
The latest win puts the recent run of one victory in nine games firmly behind Maltby.
Spencer Fearn’s men enjoyed a dream start as Steve Hopewell headed home after just one minute.
Injury-hit Hemsworth hit back with a magnificent free kick from rising star Richard Collier.
But that failed to deflate Main as Nicky Darker’s superbly-hit strike flew into the top corner as half-time approached.
Hemsworth started the second half well. After surviving a bit of pressure, Maltby got back into it and two goals either side of the hour mark extended the lead.
Recent returnee Dean Smith needed the post’s help for his goal before Ryan Carroll ran through to score the fourth.
Luke Danville’a finish in the 81st minute added late drama, but for it was too little too late for Hemsworth.
Jake Day’s incredible debut hat-trick earned Bridlington Town a 4-2 home win over Albion Sports.
Brid, whose other goal-scorer was Joel Sutton, had to come from behind to secure the three points.
