Top half chasing Athersley Rec had to come back from behind to deliver a damaging blow to Bridlington Town’s title hopes.
Andy Norfolk’s eleventh minute penalty, after Jake Day was brought down, gave Brid the lead.
Athersley hit back on the stroke of half-time with Tom Copping’s header from a corner.
The Rec grabbed the three points, courtesy of two goals in seven second half minutes.
Lee Garside got both goals. The first was a rebound from a penalty which was saved.
His second came after Bridlington missed a big chance to equalise.
The victory keeps the Rec on course for an outstanding top ten finish.
