Joe Green playing for Handsworth at Gainsborough
Hemsworth Miners Welfare have snapped up highly-rated young goalkeeper Joe Green from Handsworth Parramore.
The 6ft 5” stopper was released by League Two outfit Newport County in the summer. During the summer he featured for Harrogate Town and Penistone Church before signing for Handsworth.
It is a problem area that Wayne Benn needed to address as Sam Leigh has a couple of niggling injuries and Chris Snaith is not always available because of work commitments.
Green joins in time for the trip to leaders Cleethorpes Town tomorrow.
