Wayne Rooney’s younger brother John scored the dramatic injury-time winner to earn Guiseley another priceless victory.

Guiseley only announced the signing of Rooney, on a loan deal from Wrexham, earlier that day. He started but it was another loanee who made an impact at the start.

Kevan Hurst first had an effort deflected over the bar, from the corner he found Jake Cassidy who headed in from five yards out.

Sutton started to grow into the match and Roarie Deacon saw an effort from the edge of the area just go past the post.

The visitors did draw level just before the break when Matt Tubbs was brought down in the area, he got up and scored with a calm finish.

Guiseley started brightly in the 2nd half with Rooney forcing Ross Worner into a save.

Connor Brown then delivered a marvellous tackle when Tubbs past Guiseley keeper Jonny Maxted and looked bound to tap it in, but the defender got in the way and scooped the ball away from goal.

But Rooney was in the right place to tap in an effort that ensured The Lions got the victory.
