Chris Hilton is urging his Stocksbridge Park Steels team to seize the opportunity of claiming a play-offs place in the final throes of the season.
The Steels have a good chance of reaching the top five because they have five games-in-hand on most of their rivals. But they have a busy schedule as those five matches are part of their remaining 17 fixtures.
And Hilton is optimistic about their play-offs chances ahead of the trip to Rugby Town tomorrow.
“Hopefully we won’t get anymore called off because if we do we’ll be playing Saturday-Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday,” Hilton told Non League Yorkshire.
“At the moment though, the play-offs is feasible. It is in our own hands.
“It is going to be a tall order with the amount of games we’re going to have to play.
“The squad isn’t the biggest so we may look to bring a couple of players in to help out with the workload.
“But if we can get some momentum going and start rolling like we did last season when we ended the season with eight wins out of nine, then why not?
“We wanted to be in with a chance of the play-offs in February and we’ll give it our best shot.
Brodie Litchfield returns after completing his four-match ban on Tuesday night when the Steels beat Romulus 1-0 at Bracken Moor.
It is a major boost for Stocksbridge as Joe Lumsden is injured.
Winger Nathaniel Crofts is also back at Bracken Moor as his loan deal from Sheffield United has been extended.
Stocksbridge are still waiting on international clearance for midfielder Richard Stirrup who recently returned from travelling in Australia.
