Lewis Nightingale’s last minute strike sent Farsley Celtic top of the table after a dramatic finish in the 2-1 win over Ossett Albion.

With Lancaster City losing to Colwyn Bay, the Celts are top on goal difference with two games-in-hand on the Dolly Blues.

But Farsley’s ascent to the throne was in doubt with 25 minutes remaining as Alex Boache converted Ross Hardaker’s pass to give Ossett the lead.

Farsley then began to throw the kitchen sink. Brett Souter, who was excellent, kept them at bay initially, but eventually Adam Clayton’s header found the net.

Pandemonium ensued when Nightingale drilled the ball past Souter in the dying minutes.

Two goals in the final ten minutes saw Goole AFC lose 2-0 to Glossop North End.

Matty Turnbull’s 47th minute goal earned Scarborough Athletic a 1-0 win over Kendal Town.

Ossett Town lost 4-0 at Bamber Bridge.

  1. Farsley are looking really good to win this league now which is brilliant, all the other local evostik teams look safe, although Tadcaster have dipped lately but should be ok, apart from Goole who look doomed now, suprised they put two inexperienced young lads in charge who are clearly out of their depth, not so much the great escape more like the great mistake. I think its come back to haunt them getting rid of an experienced guy in Dave Anderson. You have to stabilise a club before you can move forward. Still its football owt could happen!

  2. Ossett Albion should have had a penalty right at the end of the first half instead he gave a direct FK inches outside the penalty area – Rob Boardman hit the bar – the difference between going too and staying 2nd …. a couple of inches.
