Brighouse Town bolstered their play-offs hopes with a straight-forward victory at Ossett Albion.

And if Brighouse can show the same clinicalness in their final eight matches then a top five finish is a realistic aim.

New star striker Mike Fish capped a good first half performance by leaping like a salmon to head home Ben Wharton’s cross.

Ossett came out strongly for the second half, but Brighouse caught them out with Wharton scoring with a header that was even better than Fish’s.

From there on there was only one winner. Luke Parkin put the game beyond Ossett with the killer third goal – a simple finish from Ben Atkinson’s square ball.

The best goal of the night was reserved for Brighouse’s spectacular strike expert Tom Haigh. The midfielder, who recently scored from the halfway line, smashed one into the top corner from outside the area.
