Paul Stansfield says his Knaresborough Town team are going to throw everything at trying to nick a play-offs spot.
The odds are against Knaresborough as Hallam are five points ahead of them in sixth-place.
Stansfield, who admits his side have dropped points they shouldn’t have, is refusing to give up on the play-offs ahead of the trip to AFC Emley.
“Undoubtably, we should be in a better position,” Stansfield told Non League Yorkshire.
“We should be ten points better off. We have conceded soft goals, that has been our achilles heel.
“Our performances merit a play-offs place, but you have to do it a both ends of the pitch.
“You have to do the basics right and we haven’t done that enough.
“But this season has been an improvement on last year as we have been consistent. If you go on the website and look at our results and it is win two, lose one each month.
“We’re still in the race for the play-offs until it is mathematically impossible. We’ll never ever give up, I have never have and the players are the same.
“Saturday (the defeat to Eccleshill) was a setback, but we will keep going. The players are great bunch, who are all honest and I know they will give 110% at Emley next week.
“It is always an interesting game at Emley and it will be hell for leather against a very good side.”
