Dando to step down as chairman

Evo Stik Premier Division

Frickley Athletic are on the hunt for a new chairman as Gareth Dando is step down as the end of the season.

Mr Dando is resigning after five years in the role and Frickley are looking for someone who can bring investment, business experience and enthusiasm to the role to help drive them forward.

Mr Dando said: “When I became Chairman five years ago there were two main things we wanted to achieve off the field; to help put in place a successful junior set up, and to improve our facilities with the aim of increasing our involvement in the local community and building a sustainable long term future.

“The Academy now has over 150 kids playing under the Frickley banner and an enormous amount of hard work has gone into that which is a credit to all those involved in its’ growth.

“With the club’s new changing rooms and community facilities due to open in early summer, we’ve achieved both those goals. We’ve also established great links with local businesses, community groups and schools so there are strong foundations in place.

“Now we’ve built that sustainable base and expanded the Club as a whole, the time is right to step aside after five years and create space for someone with the right skills and contacts to take the next step to move the Club forward.”

Anyone who is interested in a confidential discussion about potential involvement should contact Gareth on 0779098469 or by email gdando91@gmail.com.
