Young centre-back James Stafford scored the only goal as Penistone Church booked their play-offs place with victory in the derby clash with resurgent Worsbrough Bridge.
Stafford, who was playing for Penistone’s reserves in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior League only three months ago, struck in the 19th minute.
Simon Parkes guided Knaresborough Town to a 1-0 success at Teversal. His first half goal keeps Knaresborough in the race for the play-offs for the time being.
Hallam realistically only need one point to secure the final spot as they have a far superior goals difference.
