Mick Godber has stepped down as Handsworth Parramore manager

Mick Godber took charge of his final Handsworth Parramore game today after announcing his resignation at lunchtime.

Godber was given a guard of honour following the victory over Bottesford Town.

Chairman Pete Whitehead: “It’s been a great pleasure working with Mick over the last four seasons and he will always be welcome at our club. I would like to wish him and his family all the very best for the future.”

Godber, who was the assistant to Peter Duffield before taking charge as a number one, resigns after over a year at the helm.

Godber said: “I would like to thank everyone associated with Handsworth for the opportunity to manage the club and for all their help during my time at the club.

“This year we’ve not met expectations and as the manager I take full responsibility and therefore I’ve decided it’s time for me to stand aside. I walk away with many good memories and new friends.”
