Jason Dodsworth has left his role as assistant manager at Handsworth

Jason Dodsworth has stood down as assistant manager of Handsworth Parramore after a brief stint at Sandy Lane.

Dodsworth, who was previously the joint manager of Athersley Rec, made his decision after the departure of Mick Godber.

Club Development manager Steve Holmes said: “Jason is a proper football man, with a brilliant working knowledge of the game. He’s honourable and as honest as the day is long, he felt that given the news of Mick’s departure that with a heavy heart he would leave his post.”

“I’ve known Jason for a number of years and working closely with him over the past seven/eight weeks or so has heightened further my admiration for him.

“We fully understand Jason’s decision and wish him well in whatever his next challenge may be. One thing is for sure he will always be welcome back at our club.”
