Farsley Celtic won the West Riding County Cup for the first time since 2006 after beating Tadcaster Albion 4-2 on penalties at the i2i Sports Stadium.

Paul Walker fired home the winning penalty on a night that got even better when the news filtered through that Evo Stik Division One North title rivals Lancaster City lost at Prescot Cables. It means Farsley are in control of their own destiny going into the final three games.

In a tight contest, Farsley went ahead through a Richard Marshall penalty in the 24th minute.

Tadcaster levelled pretty quickly as Carl Stewart struck the ball sweetly into the top corner.

Neither side could force a winner in the second half and so it went to penalties.

Lewis Nightingale, Ryan Watson, Aaron Hardy and Walker scored for Farsley, while Sellars and Jonathan Greening netted for Tadcaster in the shootout.
