Shaw Lane are set to be crowned champions
Shaw Lane AFC are set to be crowned champions after Witton Albion confirmed that they are to be deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player.
The offence occurred during Witton’s victory over Stocksbridge Park Steels in February.
The Evo Stik are expected to confirm Shaw Lane as champions at some point this week.
It has been a memorable, but tragic season for Shaw Lane, whose defender Dan Wilkinson tragically passed away in September. To be champions, it is a fitting tribute to him.
