Farsley Celtic’s destiny fell out of their own hands, while Ossett Town took their fight for a play-offs place to the final day.

Martin Pembleton hit two second half goals to knock Farsley off top spot and leave them requiring a win and a draw or defeat for Lancaster City on the final day.

Third-placed Ossett need a point from their clash with rivals Trafford to guarantee a top five position. Defeat would see Trafford overtake them and leave them relying on results elsewhere.

Ossett sent their own fans into raptures six minutes into the second half when Pembleton volleyed home.

It set up a grandstand finish as Farsley pushed for the equaliser and Ossett for a second. Grant Black’s men caught Farsley out on the counter attack to seal it late-on, with Pembleton scoring a tap-in.
