Harrison Biggins booked Stocksbridge Park Steels’ place in the play-offs as Chris Hilton’s men secured a play-offs spot.
Regardless of what happens on the final day of the season, Stocksbridge will visit Spalding United next Tuesday in the play-offs semi-finals.
Stocksbridge did not mess about in the crucial victory. Biggins fired home a free kick after just two minutes. The midfielder, who has arguably been the club’s player of the season, then scored again moments later with a close range finish.
A penalty would lead to Jack Langston reducing the deficit in the first half, but it failed to inspire a Chasetown comeback.
