AFC Emley have promoted assistant boss Joe Howson to the position of first team manager.
He replaces Darren Hepworth, whose seven-year stint in charge ended at the weekend.
The appointment is a dream come true for Howson, who served loyally under Darren Hepworth, first very successfully as the development team boss before taking up a first team role.
Howson told Emley’s official website: “It’s no secret I wanted to manage AFC Emley one day. While that day has come quicker than I expected a few weeks ago, you can be assured I’ll be grabbing the opportunity with both hands.
“Thank you to the Chairman and the committee for backing me, I’m proud of the appointment and can’t wait to get started.”
Emley have also announced the exit of first team coach Pat Piearcey, who was always intending to stand down at the end of the season.
