Former AFC Emley manager Darren Hepworth is back in football after taking charge of ambitious West Yorkshire League new-boys Huddersfield YMCA.
The role will suit Hepworth as YMCA play few midweek games, a key reason behind his departure from AFC Emley as mounting work commitments meant his availability during the week would be limited.
YMCA chairman Richard Spychalski, a former Emley U19s manager, said: “I am delighted to welcome Daz to the club and having known Daz for a number of years, I am confident that he will hit the ground running and throw himself into this new challenge.
“There are exciting times ahead of us at the club and I know that Daz will commit himself 100% to help us all make this project successful.”
Hepworth was Emley manager for nearly seven years and has been heavily praised for his role in turning the club into a formidable NCEL side.
He was replaced by his assistant Joe Howson.
