Garforth Town’s record-breaker Mark Simpson was rewarded with three awards for this efforts during a landmark campaign.
Simpson’s 30 league goals is a new Garforth club record, just like when he scored in ten successive Garforth matches earlier in the season.
The exciting striker went home with supporters’ player of the year, the golden boot and a special award for setting the two records.
He also narrowly missed out on the goal of the season which was won by Mitch Hamilton for his goal against Clipstone in the opening month of the campaign.
The Ralph Backhouse Trophy, in memory of one of Garforth’s most well-known supporters, was presented to right-back Sam Leach. Leach, who had never played NCEL football prior to the campaign, was the only player out of 40 taken on from open trials last summer.
The most improved player award went to young centre-back Luke McCrum.
The prestigious players’ player of the year was won by midfielder Jack McMurrough.
Captain marvel James Beaston picked up Rob Hunter’s manager’s player of the season trophy.
