New Pontefract Collieries defender Macauley Parkinson

Pontefract Collieries have heavily strengthened their defence by persuading Frickley Athletic’s Macauley Parkinson to drop down two Divisions.

Parkinson has spent the last three seasons at Frickley. He also lists Guiseley and Ossett Town amongst his previous clubs.

The Pontefract management team of Craig Parry, Craig Rouse and Luke Jeffs said: “As soon as we were aware of Macca’s availability after his departure from Frickley we moved quickly to try and secure his signature for the upcoming season.

“He undoubtedly brings a lot of quality to an already excellent group. His wealth of experience despite his young age will be a great asset to the side.”

Pontefract have announced the exits of Paul Haigh and Chris Wood.
