Ossett Albion manager Richard Tracey will face his old club Sheffield United in pre-season as the Blades are sending an under 23s side to Dimple Wells in August.
Albion will also face Stocksbridge Park Steels, due to Tracey’s long standing friendship with Chris Hilton.
The Sheffield United u23s will visit Ossett on Tuesday 8th August.
It will be a great opportunity for Ossett to test themselves against outstanding young from the Lane.
Last year six youth internationals played in the Blades side. Dom Calvert-Lewin, now of Everton played up top with the England pair of Louis Reed and David Brooks. They were supported by former Wales U21 Kieran Freeman and uoung Irishman Shea Gordon playing in midfield. In goal was a young and outstanding keeper Aaron Ramsdale who has since joined Bournemouth.
Tracey said “It would be great to get a few extra through the gate because the quality of the Championships squad means that some exceptional young talent will be on show.
“Moves such as Dom Calvert-Lewis’s to Everton demonstrates that fact with him having made several Premier League appearances.”
Incidentally Dominic’s dad, Calder was Tracey’s strike partner at the Sheffield United Academy back in 1998, in a side that had Curtis Woodhouse & Lee Morris in.
