Tom Dugdale has decided to join Frickley Athletic

Brighouse Town left-winger Tom Dugdale is one of three players who have agreed to join Spencer Fearn’s Frickley Athletic.

Also arriving at Westfield Lane is Fearn’s former Maltby Main captain Joe Austin. Tyler Williams, from last season’s team, has agreed to stay.

Dugdale, a former Farsley Celtic youth, made his name playing for Thackley during the 2015/16 campaign – his performances won him a move to Handsworth Parramore.

Centre-back Austin has had spells with Clipstone, Handsworth, Maltby and AFC Mansfield.

Fearn said: “Both Joe and Tom yet again add more quality to our squad that is taking shape now. Without doubt Joe has been one of the top defenders in the NCEL in the time I have worked in that league and has been courted by several teams this summer.

“He is a leader, reads the game very well and gives 100% every time he trains or plays . We are really pleased he has chosen Frickley above the other interested parties.

“Tom is a dangerous player with great technical ability and he certainly has an eye for goal, I’ve seen him play a number of times and he has always really impressed myself and our coaching team.

“Again, it’s a very good signing for us here at Westfield Lane and we welcome them both.”
