Grech-Brooksbank given Bridge chance

Worsbrough Bridge manager Josh Wright

Worsbrough Bridge manager Josh Wright has offered former Ossett Albion striker Ben Grech-Brookbanks a chance to reignite his Non League career.

Grech-Brookbanks, who has also been on the books of Liversedge, has suffered heavily with injuries in the past few seasons.

Wright has also revealed that more members of last season’s side want to return to Park Road.

“Ben most recently played for Ossett Albion but has been hampered with injuries,” Wright told Non League Yorkshire.

“He knows and we know that we have got to work hard on his fitness during pre-season, but he is more than willing to do that.

“On his day I believe he is as good as anybody in the league at driving forward from midfield and he is somebody I am excited to be working with this season.

“There has also been a great response from the lads out of last season’s group who are wanting to re-sign such as Joe Singleton, Matt Pinder and the (Connor and Calan) Rollinson brothers, among others.

“I have a couple of targets still which I hope to push over the line in the next few weeks and have a full squad in place by the second week of July.”

So far Tom Guest and Jack Mawson are staying. Rob Bordman, Matty Thompson and Chris Walton have agreed to join.
