Evo Stik Division One North
Brighouse Town goalkeeper Tom Taylor is heading to the seaside to be Scarborough Athletic’s new goalkeeper.
He replaces Jordan Porter, who signed for Spennymoor Town this week.
Taylor has become one of the best goalkeepers in the Division over the past few years – due to his displays for Farsley Celtic and Brighouse.
Taylor, who once scored a last minute header for Brighouse, was Farsley’s number one goalkeeper for two seasons between 2014 and 2016 – during one of those campaigns he won the Evo Stik Division One North young player of the year award.
He spent the whole of last season at Brighouse, playing a key role as they nearly grabbed a play-offs place.

As previously stated, they are having an FCFC 2014 reunion on the East coast this summer, it seems… for a team who were having whip rounds to keep going in the last yr or so, they seem to be spending ambitious amounts of money. Hoping/praying for massive crowds turning up to the plastic sportground? Fingers crossed for them…
Tom T is a good keeper. All the former celts they have recruited ARE a step up/improvement on what they have had in the last couple of seasons. Be interesting to see if they gel again. These players did ok in that division together but if memory serves me, they didn’t do well enough to get the team out of the 2nd div N at the time.
That plastic sports ground is the reward for 11 years of fans travelling nearly a 50 mile round trip to support their club. Can’t wait…. great facility for football to come home.
As for budget, comparable to last season. Our previous keeper had been playing at a higher level so I can imagine salary being higher. Just good investment. Hopefully the draw for players to play in front of the best crowd for 2 leagues.
Always tough to gel teams at this level with all the changes and none contracts (unlike other clubs in our league) – fingers crossed!
