Ryan Serrant has joined Shaw Lane AFC after leaving Farsley
Long-serving Farsley Celtic left-back Ryan Serrant has signed for champions Shaw Lane AFC.
Serrant, the cousin of former Newcastle United left-back Carl, was almost ever-present for Celtic for ten years after arriving at Throstle Nest in 2007 after being released from Leeds United.
He stayed loyal to Farsley during their troubles and was in the reformed team which won the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title at the first attempt in 2011. Because of his loyalty, he was a very popular at Farsley.
Serrant joins Shaw Lane, becoming their third new signing of the summer behind Lee Bennett and Nicky Walker.
Top man, snoop. Shaw lane are lucky to get him. Make no mistake about that.
Without an actual club forum now, I’d like to pay tribute to Snoop. Great player, great bloke. The Serrants played a big part in our successes over the last decade or so. Ryan was regarded as the best left back in the NPL and is a Celtic Legend & hero. Hope he has many playing years ahead of him (just don’t do TOO well against us in 2017-18, snoop!!) :¬)
