Josh Wright has pulled off the coup signing of Penistone Church striker Danny Joynes.

Joynes, the brother of former prolific Evo Stik forward Nathan, was a member of the Church team which surprised many by winning promotion and the League Cup last season.

Although he did not take part in the game, Joynes put pen-to-paper on his move to Worsbrough at his new club’s friendly at Penistone last night.

Wright told Non League Yorkshire: “To get Danny Joynes in shows how far the club has come in a short period.

“He’s an all round no.9 and was one of my key targets.

“He’s good to link the play up but more importantly he scores goals and that is proven throughout the last few seasons.

“I have built ip a good relationship with Ian Richards and he was quick to give me the nod for me to approach Danny which i really appreciate.

“To say I am delighted to get a player of Danny’s calibre in would be an understatement.”
