Sean Regan remains content with his Eccleshill United squad and is reluctant to bring new faces in.
Regan has kept the faith in the lads who finished last season very strongly.
“We have come to an agreement with the team,” Regan told Non League Yorkshire.
“We all know where we are with things. Everybody is signed on again.
“Without mentioning names there is one we are looking to sign and there is another player coming in next week.
“But at the end of the day it has to be a player who can compete with our current squad. We have a pretty strong squad so the last thing I want to do is be signing 20/30 players and have a massive squad.
“Players won’t stay if I did that.”
Eccleshill began their pre-season campaign with the 6-1 defeat to Evo Stik giants Shaw Lane AFC on Monday night.
For Regan there were positives and negatives.
“I think you’re right that it was a good first half performance, but things unravelled in the second,” he said.
“For most of that first half we looked okay. We looked like we had structure in the team, however there were things we could have done better.
“The tempo was a bit slow and we could have done better with possession. I think with the changes we made and mistakes that were made killed the game off.
“Shaw Lane tested our stamina and we have had a pretty good pre-season training-wise. But if you don’t keep possession it is obvious that you’re going to tire quickly because all you’re doing is chasing it down.
“It is all good experience though against teams like that.”
Eccleshill have also announced that their friendly with Bradford City next Wednesday will feature some of the Bantams’ first team players. Stuart McCall will be present.
