Evo Stik Division One North
Former striker Michael Coulson has been lured back to his hometown club – Scarborough Athletic.
Coulson began his career with the old Scarborough club in 2003. He went onto become the second youngest goal-scorer in the club’s history.
After leaving to join Barnsley in 2006, Coulson went onto play for Grimsby Town, York City and St Johnstone.
So the return of Coulson is a big coup for Steve Kittrick, whose team are preparing for their first season at their new Flamingo Land Stadium home.
This seems an odd move on both sides. A club that has struggled financially signing a pro- he’s still under 30 so surely should/would be wanting f/t money. All be it a squad player, he was at an SPL club last season so must have been on ok money…£thousand(s) pw. How will they find such money OR how will he survive on £100 pw now back on the East Coast…
Unless he is dual-registered. Will only turn out at flamingoplasticland when BPA or whoever don’t want him?
It seems a hell of a drop in standard overnight, from the SPL squad to the NPL 2nd div. If he was so keen to return to the area I’d have thought York would have taken him back
