Craig Parry is very satisfied with his Pontefract Collieries squad as the final countdown to the opening day begins.
Parry and his management team of Craig Rouse and Luke Jeffs have made a handful of signings since winning promotion in April.
Eli Hey, Cody Cromack, Vaughan Redford, Josh Dacre and Grant Darley have arrived and Parry is not rushing to add further new faces.
“We had our initial targets before the season even ended,” Parry told Non League Yorkshire.
“Myself, Craig (Rouse) and Luke (Jeffs) nailed down who we wanted quickly – Eli (Hey), Cody (Cromack), Vaughan (Redford) and Macca (Macauley Parkinson).
“Macca has gone onto play at a higher level and I wish him all the best. We’ve obviously brought in Josh Dacre and Grant Darley in since.
“The new guys have settled in and settled in well. We’re quite content with the squad.
“We could add one more in, but that would be it. I’m really pleased with how the squad is gelling.”
Pontefract head to Horbury Town tomorrow for their penultimate friendly fixture before the Emirates FA Cup curtain-raiser home tie with Alsager Town.
The Colls got beat 6-1 by Frickley Athletic last Saturday before the 5-1 victory at local rivals Glasshoughton Welfare on Tuesday night.
Parry added: “It was a good performance (against Glasshoughton) which was good especially after getting taught a lesson by Frickley.
“We got the ball down and we played in the right areas. I thought the front three were brilliant. They worked hard, pressed high up the pitch which basically allowed us to play.”
