Sean Regan is hopeful that Eccleshill United can carry on where they left off last season

Eccleshill were tipped to do well last season, but a poor start cost them any chance of reaching the play-offs. However, they ended the campaign strongly and because he has retained his squad, Regan is hopeful as the new season looms.

“If we continue to progress in the way we did at the same of last season then I’m sure we’ll do pretty well,” Regan told Non League Yorkshire.

“That’s the reason why we have such a small squad. It is a squad that know each other.

“I think the aims are to do better than last year. I’m always optimistic and I have always have an open mind.

“I’m looking at it thinking we’ve seen what we can do and we competed with the best at the end of last season, why can’t we do it again this year.

“We dominated a lot of games at the end of last season and that tells you that we are in that stage where we can compete with anybody.”
