Captain marvel Gav Allott picked up where he left off for Frickley Athletic by scoring the winner.
Although he probably would have preferred a more comfortable victory, Spencer Fearn will have been delighted to start his Frickley tenure with three points.
Frickley were magnificent in the first half, they just could not find the net. Allott, Tom Dugdale, Jason Yates and Ben Wiles all went close.
Chances flowed in the second half. Wiles and Allott again went close.
The game was decided by Allott’s 70th minute strike. Steve Hopewell deserves the credit for it as it was his brilliant turn and vision that enabled the killer through ball to be played. That sent Allott away and he did not disappoint.
