Vill Powell was able to celebrate a winning start to his Brighouse Town reign thanks to Aaron Martin’s fantastic strike.
In the first half there were plenty of missed chances. Former York City striker Richard Brodie hit the post early on for Skelmersdale.
Brighouse also went close through Jamie Underdown.
In the end it was down to Martin to win it with a calm from just inside the penalty area nine minutes into the second half.
