Eccleshill United 2-0 Glasshoughton Welfare
Magic man Luke Harrop played a key role as Eccleshill United overcame Glasshoughton Welfare in Bradford.
Although chances were few and far between, Eccleshill were good value for their victory. Glasshoughton were off the boil and did not play to their true potential. Going forward they were positive towards the end, but the damage had been done.
Harrop’s opener was very silly from Glasshoughton’s perspective. Welfare’s defence and midfield parted like the red sea as Harrop took the ball from the halfway line and towards sitting duck goalkeeper Mateusz Zaniewski. The dual-registered stopper could do little as Harrop closed in on him before rounding him to score.
The contest was over 14 seconds into the second half. Glasshoughton just did not turn up for the opening exchanges as they allowed Harrop to cross from the right and Jonny Irving a free header as the back post.
