Jonathan Rimmington believes the excitement surrounding Liversedge’s FA Cup run gives them a excellent chance of beating their record attendance tomorrow night.

‘Sedge are hoping to pull in over 1000 people for the home game with Garforth Town tomorrow.

Club officials have been promoting their aims for a few weeks and the sensational Preliminary Round victory at Evo Stik side Ramsbottom United has given their hopes a major boost.

“In some respect the FA Cup brings more excitement than the league can,” Rimmington told Non League Yorkshire.

“I can’t wait for the next round. But looking to Tuesday, I think it is going to be a great night and I hope there’s going to be a massive crowd for it.

“I hope we do because the team deserve it because of their efforts at Ramsbottom. The FA Cup win is definitely is going to help us get the kind of crowd we want.

“Because its the FA Cup and the coverage it brings, I don’t think there is a better time to profile Liversedge Football Club and I just hope the Cup run and tomorrow night can really help the club in the long-term.”

Super Roy Fogarty was the hero for Liversedge at Ramsbottom with his two last gasp goals.

The euphoric scenes at the end have been described as “madness” and Rimmington says the victory has brought his team together.

“We’re a new team aren’t we so the cup run has created togetherness,” he said.

“The right-back is new, one of the centre-halves is new, Joe Kenny in centre-midfield is new, the front three are new.

“We’ve lost Vaughan Redford, Cody Cromack, Harrison Blakey so it is a fairly new team and I think the run has created togetherness in a short space of time when it could have taken longer.”
