Liversedge 2-2 Garforth Town
Liversedge and Garforth Town did Non League football proud by making sure the bumper crowd were entertained with a classic end-to-end clash.
Although thriving ‘Sedge did not reach their target attendance of 1000, the galvanised club should be heavily praised for their efforts to promote Non League football.
If a small majority of new spectators, who watched the draw with Garforth, return regularly to watch matches at ‘Sedge then the great initiative will have been worth it.
The match was meant as a euphoric homecoming for ‘Sedge’s brave FA Cup heroes, who pulled off the shock of the round with their victory at Evo Stik big guns Ramsbottom United.
But Garforth had other ideas as the Miners led at half-time through their star man Lee Turner.
‘Sedge’s brilliant manager Jonathan Rimmington must have said some inspirational words at half-time as his side equalised within three minutes of the second half starting through their Cup talisman Roy Fogarty.
A Turner penalty would put Garforth in front again.
Aaron Fell scored a 30-yard volley to draw ‘Sedge level again before a frantic finale which saw both teams go all out to try and win the clash.
