Pontefract Collieries have let their promotion-winning goalkeeper Ben Saynor dual-register with Goole AFC on a “temporary basis”.
Saynor was the Colls stopper for all of last season. However, he was sent off during the promotion-clinching victory at Worsbrough Bridge on the final day of last season.
This meant he served a three-match ban at the beginning of this season and Ryan Musselwhite has done very well, meaning Saynor has been unable to reclaim his number one berth.
“We are keen to stress that Ben is very much part of our plans going forward along with Ryan,” Pontefract’s management team said.
“We have two excellent goalkeepers in the squad and unfortunately as a result Ben will go out on a temporary basis to get much needed game time to allow him to come back match sharp and compete with Ryan. We wish Ben all the best and look forward to having him back with the squad soon.”
