Jake Day’s dramatic injury-time winner for Bridlington Town denied new Athersley Rec manager Luke Potter a point from his first game in charge.
It was an unfortunate ending for Athersley, whose players had given everything for Potter who was appointed on Sunday night.
There was also late drama at Albion Sports where Jack Steers headed home a late winner for Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
The victory moved Hemsworth to within a point of leaders Pontefract Collieries.
Harrogate Railway were unlucky in their 5-3 defeat to Worksop Town. Shane Hamilton, Bradley Swain and Jason Price had put Railway on course for a point until two goals in the last 15 minutes won it for Worksop.
Parkgate won in the league for the first time this season. The Rotherham-based side came from behind to beat winless Barton Town 3-1 at Roundwood. Joe Harris, Adam Clayton and Danny Harris scored second half goals.
