Magic man Mitch Hamilton was the hero for Garforth Town

Magic man Mitch Hamilton’s stunning last gasp winner sparked wild celebrations as Garforth Town pulled off a superb 3-2 victory at Worksop Town to continue their solid start to the season.

The win underlines just how good a job Rob Hunter has done at Garforth as his side were beaten 5-1 by Worksop at Sandy Lane 12 months ago.

The Miners were tremendous. Calum Ward forced the opener after latching onto a poor back-pass.

Steve Wankiewicz did equalise for Worksop, but Hamilton put them back in front.

That was before half-time and Garforth held onto their lead until 86th minute when Jordan Turner forced the ball home.

However, Garforth were not satisfied with a point in the end-to-end encounter and Hamilton’s worldie stunned the home support in the last minute.

In Division One, leaders Knaresborough Town were unable to make it ten wins out of ten as AFC Emley held them to a goal-less draw at the Welfare Ground.

Campion survived a late fight-back from East Yorkshire Carnegie in the 3-2 victory. Aiden Day, Kieran Batey and Robbie Graham scored.

Eccleshill United won 2-1 at Dronfield Town – Andy Cooper and Matt Mathers struck.
