He’s back: Mark Simpson provided some magic moments for Non League fans while playing for Garforth Town last season

There will be dancing in the streets of East Leeds tonight as prodigal son Mark Simpson is back at Garforth Town.

Rob Hunter has confirmed to Non League Yorkshire that everything has been signed and the silent assassin will go straight into the squad for the Rainworth Miners Welfare clash tomorrow, as long as his registration transfer from Worksop Town goes through.

Simpson is one of Garforth’s greatest players of recent memory. In the next 18 months, he could easily become their all-time record goal-scorer after returning for a third spell.

Last season he scored 30 league goals and also broke the record for scoring in consecutive matches – ten in total.

He left in the summer to join Frickley before eventually moving onto Worksop in early August.

It is the latest boost for Garforth, who have enjoyed a brilliant start to the season under Hunter.

  1. Its good to see Mark back at Town again , this should add to our prowess up front as Mark is proven at this level , although he has a bit of competition as the lads upfront have done well so far this season
